Autumn in the Birches

Grove of birches in autumn color in Hebron NH. Manipulated color photograph.  An image captured in the fall of a small grove of birches that survived a good size logging operation serves as the base image for five images treated in different ways. The total of all images will be less than 100. Sizes and prices vary but the artist recognizes that the 5 images are derivatives of the one base image and will not exceed the total of 100.

This image is available as a signed original or an affordable unsigned open-edition print. Signed originals are considered valued works of art because of the artist’s signature and the edition number indicating the rarity. For that reason they are created in limited numbers or a single original. They are printed on museum-quality rag fine art paper or canvas or metal. Open-edition prints bear no signature or may have a digital stamp. They are a very affordable alternative for people who simply love the work and can be purchased on various grades of paper and sizes to reflect your cost constraints. Their value is purely personal for people who love art and want to display an image.

Wayne’s images are a celebration of life, blending the real and the surreal to achieve a sense of place or time that reaches beyond the moment into what he calls a "dreamlike quintessentialism" designed to spark an emotional response. Using digital enhancement, handcrafting, painting, and sometimes even straight photography, King seeks to take the viewer to a place that is beyond simple truth to where truth meets passion, hope and dreams.
