>
The back corner of the barn is the sunset corner.
Watch your step.
Ripples and waves, grooves and troughs
In well-worn hallways.
Where cattle, sheep and humans passed
Filled the air with the rich aromas of life, lingering still
Years after their hooves, paws, and boots have ceased to tread
The smell of hay remains.
Past trough and yoke, lead and latch.
Through quiet corpses of wagons, tillers and rakes.
Leading to the last rays of the dying day.
